We at bird in the hand would be delighted to work with you to schedule a presentation with our amazing birds tailored to your group! To discuss your presentation call Nikki at 540-272-0666 or send an email to nikki@birdinthehand.net PRESENTATIONS TYPES (1) Educational Presentations and (2) Walk-By Presentations Educational Presentations provide a means to support our primary mission of rehabilitating injured birds of prey. Education about raptor biology, conservation and preservation is our central focus, however we can tailor our presentation for your event. We do not make "raptor appearances" where the only goal is to have a bird of prey present at the event. Walk-By Presentations work well for corporate picnics, outdoor fairs, Earth Day celebrations, etc. Our educators will be standing at a booth with a live raptor and answering questions from the event attendees as they walk up to the booth. People may stay as long as they like. Our educator will periodically take breaks and alternate birds to maintain audience interest and give the birds a chance to rest. Some forums benefit from Power Point Lecture Slides. These educational presentations are structured for a fixed amount of time (typically 30-60 minutes) at locations such as libraries, nature centers, schools, scout meetings, etc. Our educators will talk about the topic selected by your organization (e.g. native raptors, owls, falconry). We will have our birds of prey on hand and do a post “Q. and A.”
REQUESTED DONATIONS All donations directly support the feeding, housing, and medical care of the raptors cared for by Bird in the Hand. Expected donation amounts range from $200 to $1500 depending on the group size and the format and length of presentation. The detailed donation amount is provided on the “Presentation Request Form”. Typical educational presentations fall into one of the following categories: · Schools · Small Groups (Profit and Non-Profit) · Lectures for large Public Audiences · Walk-by Events
